Review: Stardom – 2017.11.25

Hanan vs. Ruaka
Another solid opening match from these two. Nothing particularly new but they worked smooth. Ruaka pinned Hanan after a fisherman’s suplex for the win. 2/5

Starlight Kid & Shiki Shibusawa vs. Scarlett & Chardonnay
Starlight Kid continues to be incredibly impressive and Scarlett & Chardonnay both looked solid. Shiki continues to look more confident when in the ring but she took a couple of messy bumps towards the end of the match. Chardonnay pinned Shiki Shibusawa after the Tower of London. 2/5

Kelly Klein & Bea Priestley vs. Natsuko Tora & Mari Apache
Its great to see Mari Apache back in Stardom and this was a good first match back. Natsuko was isolated for quite a while at the beginning of the match but eventually made her comeback and got Mari Apache in. Mari instantly showed her class with incredibly smooth offence including a Mexican surfboard to Bea Priestley. The match then went back-and-forth until Kelly Klein delivered a fireman’s carry powerslam to Natsuko Tora and got the pin. 3/5

Konami with an impressive kick from the middle rope to Hiromi Mimura.

Konami & Yoko Bito vs. Jungle Kyona & Hiromi Mimura
Yoko Bito’s farewell run begins with this solid tag match. Everyone looked good in parts, especially Konami who used some amazing kicks. Jungle Kyona and Hiromi seem to have a gimmick of shouting “Jungle” & “Shout” as much as they can during a match when they tag together which can be both funny and occasionally annoying. Yoko Bito pinned Hiromi Mimura with a B-Driver. 3.25/5

Queen’s Quest (Io Shirai, HZK, Momo Watanabe & AZM) vs. Oedo Tai (Kagetsu, Hana Kimura, Kris Wolf & Sumire Natsu)
This went just about as expected for a match with almost too much talent in it. It was chaotic, sometimes hard to follow, had occasional moments of real quality and was very entertaining throughout. I really enjoyed the Kagetsu vs. Momo Watanabe segment (their match in January is still one of my favourite of the year) and Hana Kimura vs. HZK was also very good. The match had several big spots as you would expect including a 4 vs. 4 suplex (which also included the referee and Tam Nakano) as well as a power move segment that left all eight competitors on the floor. There was also dissent in the Oedo Tai ranks as Hana and Tam attacked Sumire Natsu. Io Shirai pinned Kris Wolf after a moonsault for the win. 4/5

Solid

A solid-enough show, but only the main event really shined.
